In order to function as an alliance member, we ask the following of all members:

[0] The leadership is here to help. NEVER hesitate to ask if you are unsure of something. You will never be criticised for asking.
[1] Log in daily to check your account.
[2] Protect yourself; do not allow your resources to be stolen. The alliance can assist with this, but you have to take the initiative and lead role yourself. You cannot just "sit back" and expect others to do the work for you.
[3] Do not endanger the alliance by antagonising other larger (or similar-sized) alliances. If you are going to raid a village, check who owns it, how strong they are, and how strong their alliance is. If in doubt - seek advice.
[4] Be willing to contribute to the defense of the alliance, in proportion to your own abilities. Single-village members are usually exempt from this, but as you grow stronger, start building up your "NATO" communal defence contingent.
[5] If you are a long way away from other alliance members, and surrounded by powerful enemies, be willing to "emmigrate" into our secure Enclave area. The alliance cannot afford to dissipate its strength on quixotic long-range defence efforts that are ultimately doomed to failure. To use a WW2 analogy: we'll happily help organise "Operation Dynamo", but we'll be buggered if we are going to send thousands of troops on a one-way trip to fight the Battle of Singapore. (google them)
[6] Try and have at least one, and idealy two, sitters. This helps tremendously if someone attacks you whillst you are offline, as the sitters can raise the alarm, and rally alliance military support to your village(s).
